Whose Got Your Back?

Have you ever been in a heated argument with someone that just wouldn’t let up? This person you are facing is so convinced of what they believe that you can’t shake them. One of the best feelings is when someone steps in alongside you and supports what you’re saying. They’ve got your back no matter what. This illustration shows the power of having support in your life. In this post, I want to share how it is important for us to not only have our own backs but to rely on God and others to support us as well.

One of my favorite quotes by an unknown author says “the goal is to grow so strong on the inside that nothing on the outside can affect your inner wellness without your conscious permission”. I’ve recently understood the power that lies in having your own back. If you can grow to the point where you love yourself so deeply no matter what the circumstance, you can turn into a powerful person. No matter what anyone brings up to you, you are not phased because you love who you are and what you bring to the table. This is what confidence looks like, and this is to be treasured.

Now that you have your own back, you need others to jump into the ring with you to support what you believe about yourself. Surround yourself with people who come into agreement with how God sees you. These are people who will continue to lift you up even when you feel down. They will pour life into you instead of drain the life out of you. These people have your back no matter what; I like to call them your ride-or-dies. These people are to be treasured.

If God is for you, who can be against you? The most powerful One who always has our back is Jesus Christ. Before you were even a thought, he knew you. He’s had your back all along! The cool thing about being in a relationship with God is that he not only has your back, but he goes before you, is within you, and all around you. So if you’re in a fight with God on your side, how could you lose? Thank God that with him on our side we will always win!
