You Are Chosen

Updated: Jul 22, 2022

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” - 1 Peter 2:9

I recently had the opportunity to attend an amazing conference where the theme was “Chosen”. The entire conference centered around realizing that we are chosen by God to carry out his divine work through us on this earth. We are chosen regardless of our skin tone, background, or educational level. Through the numerous keynote speakers that were present, I learned the importance of reminding ourselves how special we truly are. No person, circumstance, or difficulty can ever take this away from you! Being chosen means to be set apart for a specific work. See, we all have a unique grace that allows us to keep going even when it’s tough. Navigating through these things allows us to get to the other side, wherein lies our destiny. At this conference, I met with people who in spite of the odds that were stacked up against them, purposed in their hearts to fulfill the mandate that was set upon their lives. I really learned how important it is to look beyond ourselves into a future that can impact generations to come. This furthermore expresses the heart of Reach One, Reach All.

Many times we can find ourselves engrossed in our present situation at hand. I know I’m guilty of trying to put all of the pieces together in my life, but this usually causes me to lose sight of what I’m chasing after - my divine purpose. Being chosen means passionately pursuing what God has placed in your life to fulfill. I want to preface that this process can be messy and uncomfortable. You may feel like all of the pieces to your puzzle are not there yet, but with time things will gradually start to come together. Each mistake, failure, celebration, and victory are crucial pieces to your puzzle. As a chosen one, I want you to ask yourself these questions to really understand your assignment on this earth:

  • What gets me out of bed every morning?

  • What would I do for the rest of my life with no pay?

  • What do people praise you for when you do it?

  • What do you find yourself doing effortlessly well, with little to no effort?

I hope these questions spark an interest within you to pursue what you are passionate about. Remember, you have been set apart to do something amazing! No one is like you - what you offer is unique and much needed on this earth. Let’s keep this conversation going: what do you feel chosen to carry out on this earth? I look forward to interacting with you! - Tracey
